I've been inspired by all kinds of fantasy media, from books by Brandon Sanderson, Darren Shan, and Angie Sage, to anime such as Berserk, Death Note, and Code Geass, to film (Stardust/Lord of the Rings), television (Game of Thrones/A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms), games (Elder Scrolls/Dragon Age), to webnovels (Reverend Insanity/City of Sin) and much, much more.
I'd recommend 12+. While I don't write sexual or gratuitously violent content (or even any swearing), my stories have high threat.
I publish as quickly as I can while ensuring my work is as good as it possibly can be, but often the fate of my works is far beyond my control.
